Back In April of '83 we started American DP from a remnants of an old inventory
we purchased from an inactive company that started all this in 1969. They transferred
their old inventory of decals and patches to us along with the correspondence files they
had set up on all the individual companies. We still use that file on many of the companies
we carry, and we've added hundreds more since than. 

The first 6 months were slow, then Petersen's Car Craft magazine ran a press release 
on our decals and it's been mostly up hill ever since. We started to add T-Shirts, than 
baseball caps, hat pins, sun shades and other related items. Changing our ads as we went
brought us to offering the "3 Free Decals" ads we still run today in the magazines. 

Then for the next 10 years, until 1993, sales continued to increase. At that time I stepped
down and new management run this business for the next 4 years only to see sales drop
almost out of sight. Then in October of  '97 I came back to try and turn this unique little
direct marketing business around. We first dropped 3 product line(caps, T-shirts, & hat pins) 
so that we could concentrate our efforts to only Decals & Patches. 

Since than we've brought in over 250 new decals & patches, made constant changes with the 
use of the internet, came out with an all new "Official Racing Decal" three years running, 
advertised in some new and different ways, and have gotten back in touch with our
consumers to carry what they want. This continued effort has shown increases of sales 
of over 50% each of the last 3 years, and next year(2001) we're expecting that to continue.
